Job Description
- Gather information about Southeast Asian countries’ macroeconomy data and political trends that affect fund investment business.
- Build and maintain relationships with fund managers in Southeast Asia region for future GP participation.
- Develop an expansion plan for Marubeni’s Japan buyout fund business into the SEA region (Both from the investor base and deal-sourcing perspectives.)
- Tap and sound potential investors who may be interested in Marubeni’s Japan buyout fund.
- Creating ideas for potential collaboration between portfolio companies and Marubeni Group and promoting collaboration plans in conjunction with business units of Marubeni Tokyo HQ and Marubeni’s regional offices.
- Plan new fund-related business in the region.
- Discuss co-investment opportunities and exchange information with Marubeni Growth Capital Asia Pte. Ltd. regularly.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or equivalent
- Business level Japanese language skills needed for negotiation of businesses with Japanese partners
- Minimum 10 years of experience in finance and investment (corporate finance, structured finance, project finance, M&A, leasing, etc.)
- 3-5 years of working experience in the deal team in fund GPs
- Working experience in Japanese GP is an added advantage
- Knowledge in the business model of fund managers/ GPs
- Knowledge and experience in the deal execution
- Strategic thinking skill
