MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial reporting to Management
- Preparation and closing of monthly financial statements
- Responsible for monitoring and tracking receivables due from ship owners, and working closely with owners for collection
- Responsible for accounting processes and tasks (AR, AP, GL, account reconciliations)
- Responsible for accurate intercompany billing and other intercompany activities
- Assist in financial budget preparation and forecasting
- Perform monthly variance analysis to identify irregularities, anomalies and areas of improvement.
- Communicate and collaborate with relevant stakeholders on accounting matters to ensure accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
- Coordinate and liaise with external parties like auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, government authorities as required
- Comply with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Participate in company and department initiatives to simplify processes, enhance internal controls, and increase efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Accountant in a mid-sized organisation. Ship management experience is an advantage, but not essential.
- ACCA/Degree in Accountancy
- Good working knowledge of Singapore and International Financial Reporting Standards
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP, or other mid-range accounting systems
- Independent, self-starter, strong in critical thinking, proactive, resourceful, team-player
- Excellent communication skills
