Roles & Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical and electrical works at various project stages, including feasibility, design, and construction.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and monitoring of costs.
Tendering and Procurement:
- Prepare tender documents, including bill of quantities, specifications, and scope of work for M&E contracts.
- Evaluate tenders, conduct negotiations with contractors, and make recommendations for contract awards.
Contract Management:
- Review and analyze contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions, and manage any variations or claims.
- Prepare and submit progress claims, final accounts, and related documentation to clients and contractors.
Cost Control and Reporting:
- Monitor project expenditures and performance against budgets, identifying any deviations and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide regular cost reports and financial forecasts to project management and stakeholders.
Site Visits and Assessments:
- Conduct site visits to assess progress, quality of work, and compliance with design specifications.
- Liaise with project teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to M&E works.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on mechanical and electrical projects in the construction industry.
- Proven track record of managing costs and contracts effectively in complex construction environments.
- Experience in preparing cost estimates and managing project budgets for M&E systems.
