ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • The overall and day-to-day operation of the Company and branches in the country in accordance with instructions and objectives given by VP.
  • The overall management of organisation in the country with authority to rotate and employ staff and to discharge staff subject to prior agreement with VP.
  • Maintaining and promoting the VIKING culture and VIKING spirit in accordance with VIKING core values. Securing that the activities in the country are performed according to VIKING policies and guidelines from Corporate, VP and Regional Finance Director and that the activities are performed to support optimal global customer satisfaction.
  • Motivating managers and staff to achieve higher goals as well as using their resources in the most efficient way to the overall benefit of the company.
  • Securing that all managers and employees are up to date with information, sales and service statistics, education, training and knowledge enabling them to perform in the best possible way.
  • Quality control, ensuring that the procedures live up to the ISO 9001 and VMS.
  • Ensure the correctness of all documents issued and signed by employees in the country and ensure that all contracts made comply with the instructions set by VP and that they are in accordance with the legislation of the area(s) in question.
  • Keeping personnel updated on rules and regulations in cooperation with product managers.
  • Responsible that internal rules and regulations of the Companies in the region are in accordance with the legislation of the area(s) and for ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with applicable law.
  • CD is responsible for the correspondence with local authorities regarding local/national and/or industry matters.
  • Organizing the activities in such a way that time and resources are available for participation in necessary activities at Group level, e.g. the relevant strategy meetings, training, product courses, etc.
  • The CD shall personally observe applicable law and respect special political, ethnical or religious conditions etc. in the country and in the other area(s) where CD operates and otherwise contribute to ensuring that the Company's reputation is not damaged.


TASK

  • Coordination of country activities such as sales, service, administration, logistics etc.
  • Timely production of reports, budgets and forecasts of the regional sales and service as required by VP. Together with the Sales Director coordination and follow up on sales budgets, forecasts from the various sales areas, Business plan Initiative targets in the area for the total yearly and quarterly budgets. This includes setting goals for prioritized customers, segments, product groups, Business Plan initiatives, geographical markets.
  • Coordination and follow up service budgets and forecasts from the various service areas in the region for the total yearly and quarterly budgets. This includes setting goals for efficiencies in the service stations for planning, administration and technicians.
  • Instigating the annual negotiations of salaries with the managers and employees in the country. Maintaining the job descriptions for all managers and employees reporting directly to CD.
  • Reporting news and issues related to the markets in the region to the VP.
  • Establishment and preservation of adequate insurance coverage for the employees and for the establishment and preservation of adequate insurance coverage for the Companies' assets, activities and liabilities. Transportation and product liability are covered under the Viking Group policies and are, thus, not the CD's responsibility; the CD shall, however, always evaluate and report whether these policies are adequate under local conditions
  • Overall responsibility for office administration and handling of files.
  • Local management activities and responsibilities agreed upon, including conducting relevant management and coordination meetings.
  • Budgeting and financial management of the VIKING branches according to instructions given by the VP and Regional Finance Director.
  • Responsible for carrying out any internal audit agreed upon.
  • Monitors and reports to R&R on development in national rules and regulations incl. implementation of international rules and regulations through networking activities with key personnel at national administrations.
  • Reviews and comments R&R newsletters, participates in R&R global liaison network and where applicable facilitates and participate in meetings regarding R&R.
