Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated System Engineer who has strong Windows Server Management experience to help manage the installation, configuration, testing and support in IT system implementation projects.
Mandatory Skill-set:
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering;
- At least 2 years of experience as a System Engineer or similar role, with a focus Windows 10 and 11 operating system;
- Strong knowledge of desktop hardware components, peripherals, and their configuration;
- Experience as a System administrator, provide support, troubleshoot and maintain computer servers and networks;
- Good technical skill in LAN/WAN, configuration and troubleshooting server, storage and tape library hardware knowledge;
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to window server computing;
- Familiarity with software deployment tools and methodologies;
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and system security configurations;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users;
- Possesses strong problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment;
- Able to work within tight timelines with good prioritization skills.
Desired Skill-set:
- Knowledge in networking technologies encompassing Fortinet, Sophos and Cisco switch, router, and firewalls.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows 10 and 11 operating systems in the IT system implementation projects;
- Manage IT operations including managing servers, active directory, backups, virtualization, storage and other infrastructure related tools;
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues related to servers;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy software applications, updates, and patches across the server environment;
- Implement and manage security measures, including antivirus software, firewalls, and encryption, to safeguard against potential threats and vulnerabilities;
- Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring efficient utilization of the servers and responsiveness of user applications;
- Provide technical support and guidance to end users, addressing inquiries, resolving problems, and offering training as needed;
- Performing on-site for system troubleshooting to support users facing issues on both Windows and Linux systems;
- Create and maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures;
- Understanding the customers system architecture and design to better support future enhancement in server system usage;
- Deploy endpoint protection and ensure firewalls are configured properly on both Windows and Linux systems;
- Manage and follow up with IT vendors on IT service level delivery and server issue;
- Collaborate with various IT vendors on project implementation.
