- To routinely follow written and verbal instructions in order to operate the plant(s), other site services & vehicle loading/unloading safely and efficiently. The detailed scope of role may vary between sites.
- To identify and explain ideas for safety and efficiency improvements in area of work and to be members of multidisciplinary teams to prioritise & implement improvements.
- To effectively and accurately communicate with people in the production team and other functions on site (e.g.maintenance, planning & logistics). This will be mainly verbal, e-mail and written.
- To be accountable for own health and safety and for those around them who could be affected by their actions.
- To ensure that safe methods of work are maintained and site specific SHE standards are adhered to, this will include the relevant risk identification and assessment , permitry compliance and incident reporting etc. on each site. To understand the consequences of not paying attention to detail and not following instructions fully.
- To make routine decisions on plant and site service operations following procedures. Non routine decisions are usually made with referral to line manager or Team Leader.
- To effectively plan and organise work and materials on own shift and prepare for oncoming shift in area of responsibility to achieve the site logistics and production plans. This includes the safe and effective handovers between shift teams.
- To train and coach new recruits in their roles.
- To carry out maintenance tasks (the level of maintenance activity is site specific). In some sites the job holder prepare the plant(s) or the equipment for maintenance activity following written and verbal instructions.
- To carry out agreed analytical testing (the level of analytical activity is site specific).
- To identify and deal with emergency situations and follow emergency procedures (in some sites this may include
- being involved in site emergency response out of hours).
