Job Hightlight:

  • Develop expertise in content strategy and editorial management, building a foundation for advanced editorial roles.
  • Opportunity to transition into specialized roles such as Senior Editor or Content Strategist.
  • Gain mentorship from senior editors, refining writing, editing, and content planning skills.
  • Potential to lead editorial projects, paving the way for management or leadership roles.
  • Build a strong portfolio with diverse writing, editing, and project management experience.

Location: Jalan Besar

Working Hours: 9am to 6pm & 9am to 1pm


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the editors or editor-in-chief to research and plan new articles
  • Commission articles
  • Liaise with team members (e.g. writers, reporters and photographers) ensuring deadlines are met
  • Write and edit pieces
  • Proofread and check articles for accuracy
  • Suggest possible sources and improvements for pieces
  • Choose supporting material, like images and illustrations
  • Follow current events and developments and suggest original ideas
  • Use social media and SEO to draw attention to articles
  • Provide administrative support to the editors or editor-in-chief

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as an assistant editor
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills
  • Experience with MS Office or other publishing tools
  • Familiarity with social media platforms such as Facebook, WeChat or WeiBo
  • Proficient in Chinese in order to create media content in Mandarin
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Candidates with more working experience will be considered a senior role
