XCL World Academy is seeking to appoint a Director of Sport cum Secondary Years Physical Education Teacher. This is a full-time contract position starting from 1 August 2025.
Preference will be given to teachers who have previous Director of Sport experience, relevant subject-specific IB MYP and DP experience, as well as a clear track record of superior teaching in international school settings.The Director of Sport position is a dual role which includes a reduced Physical Education teaching allocation.

- Seeks clarification in case of lack of clarity in order to fully meet all expectations of the role and sets and maintains high standards of professionalism.
- Contributes to the development of curriculum and assessment documentations.
- Show exemplary attendance to work eg. recognizes the importance and provides support for XCL extended school day activities.
Main Responsibilities- Director of Sports
- Responsible for the planning and the future growth of sport in the school by leading the team of coaches to develop sporting excellence while encouraging the participation of pupils of all abilities.
- Develop a school-wide strategic plan for sports that will improve student-athlete participation, see ongoing improved athlete and team performance and results, and establish XCL World Academy (Singapore) as a leading sports school in Singapore
- Collaborate with the sport specific coordinators - football, basketball, girls sport; to ensure that we continue to provide quality coaching practices and opportunities for student-athletes to develop positively in the chosen sports
- Source and provide appropriate professional development opportunities for our coaches and sport coordinators to develop current best practices to benefit our student-athletes
- Find and secure coaches for school teams from internal staff and external providers
- Set standards for coaches to ensure team performance is improving, player development is evident, and XCL World Academy (Singapore) enhances its reputation as a high performing sports school.
- The contact point & manage the hosting for home games throughout all seasons to demonstrate the high standards held for sporting events at the School.
- Manage end to end planning, coordination, communication, meeting, schedules of ACSIS leagues effectively with Parents, students and vendors appropriately.
- Drive results and meet agreed expectation, provide effective communications with team coaches; lead and manage bookings, payments and all other logistics to ensure smooth running of the program.
- Ensure home game logistics and setup is actioned - venues, equipment, officials
- Make informed decisions on cancelled games in line with ACSIS expectation and advise parents and visiting schools in a timely manner.
- Organise the appropriate equipment for all the teams each season, manage the distribution collection, inventory and ordering of uniforms.
- Effective management of budget, equipment, facilities, guest speakers, athlete development programs and conduct review for consistent improvement in programs, services and end to end management of Sports in the school.
- Liaise with other XCL schools for development of the XCL Olympiad to provide international sporting opportunities for XCL students to connect oversee the organisation of XCL Singapore teams travel to away venues.
