Marketing and Communications/Events Intern

Key Responsibilities:

1. Marketing & Communications

· Assist in developing and executing online and offline marketing campaigns to promote events, fundraising initiatives, and programmes.

· Support the content creation process for the charity’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), email newsletters, and website.

· Draft compelling copy for email blasts and website updates to showcase success stories, donor highlights, and campaign milestones.

· Monitor and analyse marketing metrics to measure the success of communications strategies and suggest improvements.


2. Event Coordination

· Support the planning and coordination of charity events, including fundraising events, community outreach, and awareness campaigns.

· Assist in liaising with event vendors, sponsors, and volunteers to ensure smooth event execution.

· Manage event logistics, such as registration, volunteer coordination, and on-site support.

· Prepare event materials such as brochures, banners, and promotional content.

· Ensure post-event follow-up, including thank-you notes and post-event reports.


3. Branding & Public Relations

· Assist with maintaining brand consistency across all communications materials.

· Support media outreach efforts by compiling media lists and assisting with pitches.


4. Admin

· Maintain department records, answer and transfer calls, collect and distribute mail, and manage enquiry emails.

· Track inventory and stock supplies, and ensure low supplies are highlighted for replenishment.

· Perform any other admin and operations-related tasks as needed.


Requirements:

· Able to commit 3 months or more.

· Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for detail.

· Familiarity with social media platforms and content management systems (eg. Canva, Facebook Ads).

· Creative thinker with the ability to develop engaging content for a variety of audiences.

· Organised, with excellent multitasking and time management skills.

· Proactive and willing to take on new challenges.

· A passion for social causes and interest in supporting non-profit work.
