Job Description – Head of Beverage


The Head of Beverages is responsible for coordinating our wine and other alcoholic beverage offerings across the Little Farms Group (including retail, F&B, Ecom, and Starter Lab), increasing customer engagement with our wine, and driving wine sales growth. Your reporting line will be to the Director of Retail Operations and the F&B Operations Manager.


Specifically, you will

  • Develop the optimal wine range for the Little Farms Group, in close coordination with the Commercial Director and F&B Operations Manager, to offer our customers an attractive, differentiated (often unique), and directly sourced range from the best wine-growing regions around the world, which our customers like
  • Assist the F&B Director in developing and updating wine menus for each of our restaurants and the bakery café, including for special wine and other dinners
  • In coordination with the Commercial Director, set strategy and agree on wine promotions for retail, Ecom, and F&B with the Director of Retail, Head of Ecom, and F&B Operations Manager, respectively
  • Ensure timely ordering of wines (in coordination with the Commercial Director) to avoid being out of stock of our wines
  • Ensure that our retail shelves are fully stocked and attractively merchandised instore and online for our customers, in close coordination with the store and Ecom teams, and that our restaurants and cafes have appropriate levels of wine on show and in stock, in close coordination with our restaurant managers
  • Develop relationships with wine growers and makers from around the world and arrange for frequent visits by them to Singapore to spend time with our retail and F&B customers
  • Lead weekly customer tastings of our wine range instore and, from time to time, in restaurant
  • Conduct range reviews, not less than semi-annually, with the Commercial Director and F&B Operations Manager
  • Train and develop the retail and F&B service team in serving and understanding wine to provide an excellent customer experience
  • Coordinate store wine and other alcohol stocktakes at the warehouses, stores, and restaurants, investigate and report on results, and take action when necessary
  • Lead and manage other members of the Wine team
  • Provide positive leadership and followership across the Little Farms Group

KPIs:

  • Agree with the Commercial Director, Director of Retail Operations, and F&B Operations Manager on annual and quarterly KPIs
  • Wine sales growth across each retail, F&B, Ecom, Starter Lab, and total
  • Availability % of range in each business unit
  • Gross profit and margin improvement
  • Labor productivity
  • Wine Club membership growth
