Job Description:
We are seeking a part-time Gymnastics Coach to join our dynamic team. The role involves teaching gymnastics to students of various ages and abilities, ensuring that every student progresses confidently while having fun. Coaches will be responsible for fostering a positive learning environment, supporting skill development, and contributing to the overall success of our programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction and Skill Development:
- Lead engaging lessons for recreational, developmental and lower-level competitive gymnasts.
- Demonstrate and explain skills to help students master gymnastics and movements techniques.
- Share ideas and strategies to enhance lessons, ensuring students build confidence and progress effectively.
Assessment and Student Progress:
- Evaluate trial class students to determine their appropriate class placement.
- Track student performance and provide feedback on skill progression.
- Encourage student transitions from recreational to developmental and competitive levels.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Participate in team meetings to align coaching methodologies with other coaches.
- Work closely with staff to ensure smooth program operations and support team goals.
Administrative Tasks:
- Manage attendance and maintain accurate records of student progress.
- Assist with communication to parents regarding progress and upcoming events.
Special Events and Professional Growth:
- Support and participate in special events such as competitions, workshops, and holiday camps.
- Engage in continuous learning by attending training sessions and coaching workshops.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Higher Nitec, diploma, or degree in Sports Coaching or related fields is preferred.
- Certification: NROC (National Registry of Coaches) license is a plus, but not required (training provided if needed).
- Experience:Prior coaching experience with recreational or competitive gymnastics is preferred.
