To analyze, review and underwrite product submissions in line with Chubb underwriting guidelines and to develop and maintain production relationships in order to enhance profitability and growth objectives of the Environmental Risk Business, with potential to expand into Climate+ Industry Practice. The role also includes underwriting duties of the Environmental Risk business operations for example data entry, marketing strategies, etc.
Responsibilities:
Achievement of the Budget
- Underwrite profitable Environmental Risk business following the rating standards, line requirements and underwriting best practices
Underwriting Process / Analysis
- Responsible for Asia renewals and new business
- Understand and utilize Environmental Rating model
- Utilizing underwriting best practices and underwriting guidelines to quote renewals and new business opportunities
- Maintenance and data management for online UW systems
- Tracking and collation of management metrics and quality standards (policy issuance, quote follow-up, etc.)
Policy wording and Product development:
- Study and understand current policy offerings
- Ensure up to date with current legislation in specific country/territory where coverage is required
- Ensure consistency with other areas of the business worldwide
- Keep up to date with emerging risk in the market.
Production / Relationship Management
- Communicate and maintain a presence for the line of business
- Internal: Attend regular distribution meetings, regular interactions with head of Product Line Manager
- External: Regular broker visits, Broker and Client Presentations.
- Coordination of marketing materials and web content.
- Develop and implement marketing content to assist in education and growth of the Environmental Risk Products
- Liaise with internal Chubb staff to educate and grow the business and develop cross-sell opportunities
- Involvement in product development initiatives
Your Skills & Experience:
- Preferred Qualifications in Science/ Chemistry/ Environmental Engineering
- Environmental insurance market experience (General Insurance knowledge or a Scientific Environmental background would be beneficial)
- Underwriting experience or understanding of the underwriting process and standards
- Project support or management experience
- Strong communication skills- written and verbal; English required
- Business development experiences a definite plus
