Job Description:
To plan, coordinate and execute pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, prepare mechanical completion checklists and coordinate with the related activities for entirety of mechanical completion and realization of commissioning.
- Reviews technical specifications, drawings, procurement and contract specifications and other relevant documents.
- Prepares mechanical completion checklists and assign to QA/QC Inspectors for completion.
- Liaises with Commercial Team and Vendor Coordinator for mechanical completion and commissioning supports from vendors and sub-contractors
- Monitors progress of mechanical completion for system readiness and assist mechanical completion work when necessary.
- Assist QA/QC Inspectors material verification check and incoming good receive when necessary.
- Liaises with Design Engineers for clarity of commissioning work scope.
- Under study system design and plan for commissioning.
- Assignment of System / Sub System Boundaries and checksheets for mechanical completion activities to facilitate site commissioning activities.
- Liaises with Design Engineers and vendors to develop commissioning procedures and submit for owner's approval.
- Liaises with owner, certifying authority, production and engineering departments on implementation and execution of commissioning procedures.
- Takes lead in commissioning preparation and work within discipline and support system commissioning of other disciplines.
- Provide commissioning assistance for vendors.
- Attend factory inspection, factory acceptance test and other related testing or compliance activities.
- Consolidates commissioning tests data and result for handover to owner.
- Ensure the safety of personnel through compliance with Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Regulations.
- Ensure that Health, Safety & Environmental operating procedures are followed and counsel employees about compliance as necessary.
- Participate in the preparation of Safe work, Environmental control and Emergency procedures.
- Ensure that all Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality (HSEQ) plans are followed.
- Ensure that all Commissioning Permit To Work Procedure (CPTW) are followed.
- Any other associated tasks and responsibilities assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical, Marine and Naval Architecture Engineering with 5 years' experience in marine industry. Or diploma in Mechanical, Marine and Naval Architecture industry with at least 8 years' experience in marine industry.
- At least 5-8 years' experience in marine industry and familiar with various classification codes, regulations and be familiar with Mechanical Completion and Commissioning Procedures
- Be familiar with codes and standards such as IMO, ANSI/ASME/API, Norsok Class codes. Technical knowledge for working on mechanical/piping installation. Be familiar with marine piping system, mechanical structure and their operating principle. Practical experience on marine systems start-up and troubleshooting.
- Need to know about specifications, classification standards and computer literate. Able to utilize measuring instruments and understand measuring requirement and practice. Understand precedence and interfaces of vessel system.
- Be prepared to work on weekends, night shifts and go for sea trials, factory acceptance test and factory inspection.
- Initiative, analytical, responsible, leadership, spontaneous, good communication skills and result oriented.
- Must be physically fit.
