Global Energy Management & Sales (GEMS) is one of ENGIE’s Business Units. We deliver services in supply and logistics management, asset management, risk management, market access management, while contributing to the market understanding, design and efficiency and developing market solutions to accelerate the energy transition.
GEMS manages one of the largest and most diversified energy portfolios in Europe, including electricity, natural gas, bulk commodities, and environmental products.

Within the GEM Business Unit, the Business Platform APAC is managing and developing the group’s trading activities for the APAC region.
WHAT WILL BE YOUR ROLE
Organization
As part of the FinOps management team reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer APAC, you will collaborate to the fulfilment of the missions of the department and may be involved in projects spanning multiple teams across commercial functions and platforms.

Role
- Responsible for overseeing the settlement, financial planning and analysis function in Asia
- Providing insights, support decision-making and ensure financial health of the platform
- Pro-active management of the liquidity and operational risk processes for related entities
- Oversight of EEMS’ daily FX exposure and margin call requirements
- Partnering the business to build carbon registry management expertise in APAC platform.
- Analyse and take decisions to mitigate operational risk, while ensuring process efficiency and aligning FinOps business applications to evolving business requirements
Main activities
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Develop and manage the annual opex budget, forecasts and long term financial planning
- Conduct detailed financial, variance analysis and prepare reports for management
- Track and analyse KPIs and financial metrics to assess business desk performance
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend cost management measures
- Collaborate with Green desk to understand business needs, provide guidance and forecasting on carbon inventories vs demand/supply, actuals vs budgeted analysis
Settlements
- Ensure timely and accurate settlement of all financial transactions managed by the team.
- Prepare periodic reports and analysis on cash positions, settlement data to management.
- Ensure data integrity and efficiency between settlement and payment systems.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
Treasury
- Oversee and approve FX/cashflows, ensure sufficient liquidity to meet financial obligations.
- Coordinate with Group corporate finance on local financing activities considerations.
- Monitor daily treasury P&L as per expectations on FX swap and IR funding decisions.
- Implement strategies to mitigate financial risks related to market/IR/FX fluctuations.
- Lead, provide training and support to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
YOUR PROFILE
Education & professional background
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional financial certifications like CPA, CFA are highly desirable.
- At least 6 to 12 years experience in a Finance function, preferably in a managerial role
- Experience in a multinational corporation or trading firm is a plus.
- Familiarity with gas/electricity and carbon markets is an advantage.
Technical skills
- Proficiency in financial modelling and forecasting techniques
- Financial and operational workflow management experience
- Advanced knowledge with treasury systems and financial software like SAP
- Proficient in MS office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) and Reuters/Bloomberg
