The Director, HR Consulting - Asia Pacific is a frontline business partner, supporting Commercial Services & Technology teams in APAC, working closely with regional HR and HR COEs to activate, promote, and deliver the HR strategy, including business plan, objectives and deliverables, change management, and communication implementation. Primarily, the Director, HR Consulting will support the business in identifying and developing talent and capability for each function to meet current and future needs. Maintaining actionable talent and succession plans and coaching leaders to develop talent and performance management. In addition, the HRD will work with the functions to promote Hilton Culture and team members' engagement. Alongside these activities, the HRD will work with the business to ensure that organizational structures meet the needs of the business on an ongoing basis, helping functions evolve and transform structures and roles to ensure they are relevant for current and future business needs.



What will I be doing?
As the Director, HR Consulting - Asia Pacific, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:


Directing Activities

  • Delivery of generalist HR advice and support in all aspects of performance and talent management, recruitment, retention, reward, and employment legislation.
  • Employee Relations (ER) – Manage ER queries as they arise. Raise any concerns to the next level. Support, influence, and coach as situations arise, providing accurate and commercial ER guidance.
  • Responsible for supporting line managers on organizational change/ initiatives, including restructuring, managing redundancies, and transfers.
  • Coach, support, and mentor managers in applying HR policies and practices, providing advice and guidance on complex HR issues to minimize risk and financial exposure.
  • Learning and Development –Support dedicated L&D team members to ensure the delivery of corporate programs. Ensure the L&D offerings are easily accessible and create awareness of the training provided.
  • Partner with the resourcing team on resourcing within corporate offices. Support managers on candidate applications, interviews, testing, and selection.
  • Support and utilize the Hilton performance management process to the full extent, taking appropriate action where necessary with performance development and career development plans.

Planning Activities

  • Support the Senior Director, HR, on delivering the HR strategy, including business plan, objectives and deliverables, change management, and communication implementation.
  • Support identifying and developing talent and capability for each function to meet current and future needs.
  • To increase the perceived value of HR to all stakeholders.
  • Undertake HR projects as they arise and are identified by Senior Director, HR.
  • Partner with line managers on their Global Team Member Survey results, holding regular reviews to assess progress and support actions as necessary to improve employee engagement.
  • Manage the HR Annual Cycle for the functions in the region.

Organizing Activities

  • Ensure that appropriate people management metrics are provided and used. Manage the distribution of this management information and deal with queries from recipients.
  • Coach, guide and support line managers on the metrics seeking resolution on issues. E.g. turnover/absence.
  • Manage and coordinate information for Talent Reviews to ensure that accurate and complete information is available
  • Create and develop visual presentations as required
  • Provide cover for the Senior Director, HR in periods of absence.
  • Support any departmental communication.
  • Work independently and with the HR team.

Controlling Activities

  • Manage the processing of relevant information through appropriate systems, including TMX, including the monthly roster.
  • Support the management of the headcount roster for Commercial Services in APAC, liaising with Finance and Commercial Services to ensure updated and accurate data.
  • Ensure compliance training is completed within Commercial Services.
  • Look for opportunities to reduce operating costs and improve service delivery.
  • Maintain self-generated department correspondence and personnel files, ensuring they meet correct legislative requirements.
  • Regularly review and recommend processes in line with business needs and best practices.

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 7-10 years of work experience
  • Significant experience in an HR generalist role or HR specialism
  • A passion for customer service delivery and exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to operate with a sense of urgency and be able to work in a time-sensitive environment where deadline achievement is essential.
  • Self-starter, well-organized, assertive, and willing to take ownership of responsibilities with a high degree of positive energy, flexibility, and drive.
  • Capable of diplomatic and poised communication with team members and management.
  • Able to interact effectively and tactfully with team members and stakeholders
  • Support a coaching culture through active coaching of team members and leaders alike
  • Capable of handling multiple projects and implementing appropriate tracking systems with little supervision.
  • Highly skilled in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent skills in time management, organization, coordination, and communication (written and verbal).
  • Completes assignments on time or advises in advance of delays.
  • Ability to access, input, analyze, and effectively report on information using word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Manage confidential information with complete discretion.
  • Learning and Development experience
  • Ability to Travel when required
