- Legal and Compliance: Develop and implement legal and compliance strategies aligned with business goals, industry standards, and regulations. Provide training to ensure adherence to all applicable laws.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Create and review policies (e.g., data protection, terms of use, data transfer, and service agreements) to ensure compliance, minimize risk, and drive improvements.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts and legal documents.
- Legal Guidance: Offer advice on compliance, contract interpretation, dispute resolution, and operational matters.
- Internal Investigations: Oversee investigations into potential compliance issues, legal disputes, or unethical behavior, ensuring timely resolution.
- Client Feedback and Complaints: Address feedback or complaints from clients and authorities, managing investigations and responses.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments during client onboarding, including AML and due diligence, with ongoing reviews.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing legal team, providing mentorship and fostering professional development.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other assigned tasks as needed by the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized university
- Min 5 years of relevant experience in both Singapore legal practice and in-house roles
- Prior leadership or managerial experience
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance and best practices
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts
