Life Community Services Society is a mid-sized social service agency with a vision to bring out the best in every child by empowering children and families through care and mentoring. We are looking for a like-minded applicant to support the MightyKids, Families & Community (MKFC) team.
Duties & Responsibilities
You shall work under the direction of MKFC’s Centre Manager. Your main duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Casework management to support the children, youth, and caregivers. This may include intake and referral, client engagement, needs and risk assessment, goal setting, intervention planning and regular reviews.
- Maintain good, timely and updated records of all programme activities, such as case notes, report-writing, attendance registers, and event records.
- Work in a team to support the smooth running of daily operations during MKFC centre’s operating hours, such as regular engagement of children and youth who visit the MKFC activity centre.
- Manage engagement with parents and caregivers, including conducting home visits, intake assessments, and regular communication through phone calls and instant messaging.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders to provide holistic support to the children and families. This involves leading case conferences with school partners or other social service agencies such as the Family Service Centres or the Social Service Office.
- Conduct group work and facilitate the running of programme activities for the children and youth to support their holistic development.
- Manage programme volunteers through active engagement and coordination.
- Assist in analyzing trends and needs of the community and target clients.
- Support the maintenance of the MKFC activity centre through regular cleaning and upkeep of centre space when necessary.
- Any other duties assigned by the Manager.
Skills, Competencies and Qualification
- Diploma/Degree in Social Work/Psychology/Counselling or related discipline.
- At least 3 years of working experience in Social Service Agencies, especially children and youth work will be an added advantage.
- Confident in building relationships with children and youth.
- Able to collaborate with caregivers, volunteers, and other stakeholders such as school and community partners.
- Strong team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Teachable heart and willing to embrace new learning opportunities.
- Must have the flexibility to work on Saturday mornings and weekday evenings (as needed).
