As a Preschool Swimming Coach, you will be responsible for teaching swimming skills and water safety to toddlers and preschoolers. Your role will contribute to their physical development, water confidence, and overall well-being. Here's a detailed breakdown of the job description and the responsibilities associated with the role:

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct swimming lessons for toddlers and preschoolers, focusing on building water confidence, introducing basic swimming techniques, and promoting water safety.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate swimming lesson plans and activities that cater to the individual needs and abilities of each child.
  • Create a safe and engaging learning environment where children can learn and enjoy swimming.
  • Teach and demonstrate proper swimming techniques, including floating, kicking, arm movements, and breath control.
  • Monitor and ensure the safety of all children during swimming sessions by closely supervising their activities and enforcing safety guidelines.
  • Provide individualized attention and support to help children overcome any fears or challenges they may have in the water.
  • Assess and track the progress of each child, providing feedback and communicating their achievements and areas for improvement to parents/guardians.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate swimming lessons into the preschool's overall curriculum and educational goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and any incidents that occur during swimming sessions.
  • Stay updated on the latest swimming techniques, safety protocols, and educational practices through professional development opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on their child's swimming progress and addressing any concerns or inquiries.

Requirements:

  • Certified Swimming Coach: Possess a recognized certification as a swimming coach or instructor, with a specialization in teaching young children.
  • Experience with Toddlers and Preschoolers: Previous experience working with this age group, preferably in a swimming or educational setting, is highly desired.
  • Water Safety Knowledge: Demonstrate a strong understanding of water safety practices and the ability to instill safety awareness in young children.
  • Passion for Teaching: Display a genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to their holistic development.
  • Patience and Communication Skills: Exhibit patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Be adaptable and flexible in lesson planning and delivery to meet the varying needs and abilities of individual children.
  • Team Player: Collaborate effectively with other team members, including preschool staff and administrators, to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional demeanor, act as a role model for children, and adhere to the preschool's policies and code of conduct.

Working Hours: The working hours for this position are Monday to Friday, from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm
