A Sales Assistant Manager supports the Sales Manager in driving sales, managing the sales team, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role combines both sales and management responsibilities and is key in helping achieve the company’s revenue targets.


Job Description


• Assist in Sales Planning: Help develop sales strategies, set sales targets, and implement sales campaigns.

• Team Supervision: Support in overseeing the sales team, including training, mentoring, and performance evaluation. Act as a leader in the absence of the Sales Manager.

• Customer Relations: Handle escalated customer issues, manage relationships with key clients, and ensure a high standard of service.

• Sales Tracking and Reporting: Monitor sales metrics, track performance against targets, and report to upper management.

• Inventory and Merchandising: Ensure that products are available, well-stocked, and presented effectively to attract customers.

• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, to support promotional efforts and improve sales performance.

• Administrative Tasks: Manage schedules, prepare sales reports, handle documentation, and assist with budgeting and forecasting.


Requirements


• Experience: Usually, 2-4 years of experience in sales or retail, with some supervisory or management experience.

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is often preferred.

• Skills:

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Analytical skills to interpret sales data and identify trends.

• Customer service-oriented mindset.

• Ability to handle and resolve conflicts effectively.

• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with sales software (e.g., CRM systems) and standard office software (Excel, Word).
