Job Descriptions:
- Assist the Project Manager in implementing the Safety Management System to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all staff and workers.
- Support the Project Manager in the implementation of the Permit to Work system and halt any incompatible activities, reporting them directly to the Project Manager.
- Serve as the secretary of the Project Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Committee, leading meetings to ensure Nakano staff and subcontractors are informed about site activities and necessary actions.
- Help ensure compliance with the WSH Acts and Regulations by working closely with the Project Manager.
- Conduct periodic safety inspections to monitor and improve safety standards on-site.
- Ensure compliance with statutory safety requirements and in-house safety regulations, and report any deviations to the Project Manager for consideration.
- Recommend corrective actions to the Project Manager for addressing non-compliance and deviations to enhance site safety.
- Keep the site management updated on new or revised statutory safety requirements and take the necessary actions to ensure compliance.
- Investigate accidents, dangerous occurrences, and incidents, and recommend corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Liaise with officers from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), National Environment Agency (NEA), Public Utilities Board (PUB), and other relevant authorities on safety, mosquito breeding, environmental control measures, and ensure appropriate follow-up actions.
- Conduct safety training and organize safety promotional activities.
- Maintain up-to-date safety documentation for audits by MOM, NEA, or ISO.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9000, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 45001 standards.
- Participate in risk assessment evaluations, management program planning, and reviews.
- Address all subcontractor safety and health matters on-site.
- Prepare and submit the site’s Environmental Control Programme and ensure that staff and workers understand its purpose.
- Inspect the site to ensure all relevant facilities and equipment for maintaining environmental health are functional.
- Assist relevant authorities in investigating outbreaks of infectious diseases or vector-borne illnesses.
- Organize campaigns and training courses to foster and sustain workers' interest in maintaining high environmental health standards.
- Assist the Project Manager with worker management tasks, including course registrations, reporting sick leave, home leave, and accommodation matters.
- Help achieve the site’s safety standards as required by the developer.
- Participate in safety planning for activities affecting public areas.
- Must hold valid registration as a WSH Officer with MOM and as an Environmental Control Officer (ECO) with NEA.
