The Role:
In this position, you will provide first-level on-site support for end-user operations within the organization. You’ll be responsible for understanding and managing complex technical issues in a fast-paced business environment. Your key tasks will include maintaining, managing, administering, and operating VMware vSphere and VMware Horizon VDI environments and applications. You will perform daily administrative tasks such as maintenance, upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and security configurations for these environments. Monitoring, alerting, and fine-tuning the VDI environments will also be crucial.
Additionally, you will assess risks associated with virtual machines and VDI applications, conducting contingency planning as needed. Troubleshooting VMware workloads and assisting in the evaluation and recommendation of related hardware, software, and services will be part of your responsibilities. Staying current with developments in virtual machine technologies and providing on-call, 24/7 support on a rotating basis is essential. You will implement corrective measures to resolve production issues and minimize unplanned outages. Creating and maintaining technical documentation will ensure efficient planning and execution, while you will also coordinate with external parties for problem resolution and support special projects as required. Furthermore, you may lead the post-delivery team to manage inventory and maintenance reporting.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical inclination and hands-on experience. Experience supporting enterprise virtualized environments on desktops, operating systems, client applications, and mobile devices will be advantageous. Proficiency in operating systems, particularly Windows Clients/Servers and various Linux distributions (such as Red Hat, CentOS, and Ubuntu), is essential. Familiarity with backup and recovery applications will further enhance your suitability for this role.
