Your Role
As an SAP ABAP Consultant, you are expected to develop, deploy, and maintain SAP applications using the ABAP programming language to achieve defined business goals. If you are appointed as a Senior ABAP Consultant, you are also expected to work and deliver autonomously, coaching colleagues while working on customers and internal engagements.
Your Responsibilities
a. Design, develop, test, document, and execute unit tests, for functions of high complexity.
b. Function as the technical expert, ensuring quick turnaround in troubleshooting of applications and providing timely solutions.
c. Transform business requirements into technical specifications to code, test, investigate, troubleshoot and debug programs with the functional consultants and business users.
d. Ability to understand complex custom solutions and applications built.
e. Support the business during the rollout and implementation of new features and functionality.
f. Handle SAP project design, testing and training implementation.
g. Liaise with stakeholders to understand business needs, pain points and user requirements, change management and be involved in technical requirements and design.
h. Support/perform SAP Basis Administration activities such as ID creation and transporting objects to different systems.
i. Install, configure, maintain, migrate, or upgrade the SAP systems as required.
j. Perform regular maintenance and performance tuning for Database and SAP systems.
k. Maintain design specifications, documentation, development and testing methodology, including changes, upgrades, and new services.
l. Provide application support and be involved in various stages of SDLC.
m. Vendor management.
About you
Your Knowledge, Skills, and Qualification
a. Strong Business knowledge and ability to interact with business users.
b. Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent, with relevant SAP certification will be an advantage.
c. 4 or more years of experience in SAP BASIS/Netweaver/ABAP Application Server monitoring and Administration.
d. Effective communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
e. Independent with strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.
f. Strong integration working experience with other SAP modules.
g. Related professional/technical qualifications will be a plus although not mandatory.
h. Good problem-solving, analytical, synthesis, system thinking and solutioning skills.
i. Expert in investigating and resolving issues related to system performance.
j. Understand and conversant in the documentation of SAP processes, procedures, and plans, including changes, upgrades, and new services.
Your Experience
a. Proficiency in ABAP programming language, including ABAP Objects, BAPIs, BADIs, and User Exits.
b. Familiar with SAP ECC and HANA environments.
c. Experience with SAP modules such as SD, MM, FI/CO, and PP.
d. Experience in BPC system configurations, upgrades/installations, performance tuning and migration activities.
e. Experience in regional template roll-out will be a plus.
f. Strong understanding of SAP business processes and data structures.
g. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a challenging environment.
h. Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
