Roles & Responsibilities:
The Finance Manager will oversee the financial operations of the agency, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective financial planning. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in nonprofit finance (preferred) and a commitment to social service.
Financial Management:
o Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
o Prepare and manage the agency’s budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
o Monitor financial performance and provide financial analysis to support decision-making.
Reporting and Compliance:
o Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders, including monthly and annual reports.
o Oversee audits and ensure compliance with regulations.
o Manage grant reporting and compliance, ensuring all financial obligations are met.
o Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations (e.g. GST, Charity Accounting Standards, etc)
Team Leadership:
o Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering professional development and a collaborative work environment.
o Coordinate with division directors to support financial planning and resource allocation.
Financial Strategy:
o Conduct financial forecasting and modelling to support long-term strategic planning.
o Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
Candidate Profile:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Qualified Accountant (CA or CPA).
· 8-10 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in nonprofit organizations.
· In-depth knowledge of financial management practices, including budgeting, accounting, and compliance.
· Familiarity with Singapore Charity Accounting Standards and Corporate Governance (Social Service) is a plus.
· Proficient in financial software and reporting tools; experience with Microsoft Business Central or Dynamics NAV implementation is preferred.
· Exceptional analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
· Understanding of funding sources within the social service sector is advantageous.
