RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) is a leading Energy Trading house for commodities in both their physical and derivative form and has become one of the leading companies in the renewables sector, too. Our headquarter hosts Europe’s largest energy trading floor, complementing additional sites in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and America.
Our Sales Unit Commodity Solutions has a growing large customer base. Within Commodity Solutions Germany & BeNeLux the Commodity Flow Desk Global (CFD) provides wholesale market access to different client sectors. The CFD acts as a cross-commodity hub for external counterparties with relevant exposures in Power, Gas, Emission Certificates and derivative hedging products.
For the growth of our financial and physical downstream Sales Trading activities in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC), we are looking to explore new OTC opportunities in close alignment with our existing trading and renewables activities.
- You become part of the CFD team which is responsible for physical and financial hedging OTC-transactions with a focus on power (green as well as grey), gas, oil, coal and green certificates (e.g. NFCs, EUAs and VERs) with energy companies, utilities and companies active in the industrial and logistic sector across APAC
- Within the team you drive the APAC growth initiative of the CFD to build and to shape a new business, this includes establishing and managing client relationships as well as performing deal execution supported by the CFD team based in Essen
- Groundwork for the required set-up with Legal, Compliance and Tax:Investigating and assessing the business and customer potential
Defining the required product set up and launching a focused reconnaissance wave working hand in hand with the CFD in Essen in APAC
Close collaboration with internal stakeholders such as our RWEST trading desksas well as business support functions - Managing and trading your own CFD sales trading book with the newly established client relationships as well as business processes in APAC
Your powerful skills
- You have a university degree in business, engineering, project management or equivalent
- You have profound experience in project development as well as energy sales trading gained from previous work experience in the banking, utility or energy trading sector (industry as well)
- You understand the risk management approach of different customer sectors and aggregators in energy commodities such as gas, certificates (NFCs, EUAs, VERs) and power in APAC
- You have the ability to collaborate closely with colleagues across the RWE business and multiple stakeholders to achieve a goal and meet tight deadlines – ranging from different RWE OpCos, project teams to Economic Evaluations
- You are a pro-active and motivated individual who displays a high level of initiative with a keen interest in building a business
- You are looking to take on new challenges, are comfortable with operating independently or in a team and demonstrate complex thinking skills, including both analytical and conceptual in solving problems
- You have excellent communication skills with the ability to transfer knowledge between analysis and decision makers in other departments with an interdisciplinary approach in English
- You have the flexibility and mobility needed to travel to multiple locations
