Job Title: Employment Sector Lead

The Role of Employment Sector Lead is to seek out employers in targeted industry/sector to support mature workers employment, identify suitable jobs and make the business case for age-diversity with employers, outreach to create more age-inclusive workforce for mature job seekers.


Department: Employment

Reports To: Executive Director

Stakeholders: Corporate clients, government agencies and funding organisations and senior job seekers


Job Summary:

The Employment Sector Lead is responsible for business development, identifying new sectors and engaging new/potential employers to create employment opportunities for mature job seekers. This role involves working closely with stakeholders in assessing ever changing workforce environment, job redesign for mature work force and work closely with training department to enhance senior skills and knowledge to increase employment opportunities. The incumbent will be measured on the number of new jobs mandate and filling those roles with mature workers as the single most important measure.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Employer Engagement: Build strong relationships with employers in various sectors to promote the benefits of hiring mature workers. Educate employers about the unique skills and experiences that mature workers bring to the table.

2. Advocacy and Outreach: Represent CFS at industry events, conferences, and job fairs to raise awareness about the value of mature workers. Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders. Conduct outreach and operationalise a Certified Age Friendly Employers network.

3. Leadership: Work with the team to develop unique full cycle hiring strategies and interview criteria/questions for each role

4. Collaborating with a team of placement coordinators focusing in the areas of candidate talent search and placement, process improvement, strategy development, understand the hiring needs of employers and the talent market through pro-active research

5. Demonstrate good knowledge in a variety of technology concepts, practices, and procedures

6. Administrative Responsibilities: meet annual target on number of employers engaged and new employers who come on board and job placements achieved


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience:
    • At least 5 years’ experience in sector business development with at least 3 years in a leadership role in employment agencies is a must.
    • Proven track record in delivering and developing successful client relationships.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Active listener with strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Excellent negotiation and closing abilities
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM, other digital system
    • Ability to conduct and analyse market surveys with strong analytical skills
    • Excellent collaborative spirit, team-oriented and willing to work closely with others to achieve common goals
