Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Management: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all data center assets, including servers, storage devices, networking equipment, and peripheral devices.
Track asset lifecycle from acquisition to decommissioning, ensuring all assets are recorded in asset management tools.
Perform regular audits of assets and ensure alignment with data center operational requirements and security policies.
- Inventory Control:Manage inventory levels to support current and future data center hardware needs, reducing downtime risk due to hardware shortages.
Conduct periodic physical inventory counts, reconcile inventory discrepancies, and update asset records accordingly.
Forecast hardware needs based on data center growth projections and ensure appropriate inventory stock levels.
- Vendor and Procurement Management:Coordinate with vendors for asset procurement, delivery schedules, and service agreements.
Manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and track contract compliance for hardware-related services.
Monitor warranty periods, maintenance agreements, and RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) processes, ensuring assets remain under coverage where applicable.
- Asset Optimization & Cost Control:Identify opportunities for optimizing hardware usage and reallocating resources to maximize data center efficiency.
Implement asset tracking systems to reduce asset loss, improve utilization, and manage inventory costs effectively.
Analyze and report on cost trends, working with procurement to recommend cost-saving strategies and identify preferred vendors.
- Documentation & Reporting:Ensure comprehensive documentation of asset management processes, including policies, SOPs, and asset movement protocols.
Generate regular reports detailing asset status, inventory metrics, vendor performance, and budget adherence.
Develop and present monthly or quarterly reports on asset lifecycle status, replacement schedules, and inventory forecasts.
- Compliance and Security:Maintain asset and inventory management in accordance with data center policies, regulatory standards, and security requirements.
Oversee access controls related to high-value inventory, ensuring only authorized personnel have access to asset storage areas.
Support internal and external audits by providing detailed asset records and demonstrating compliance with inventory policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in asset management, inventory control, or data center operations.
- Certifications: IT Asset Management (ITAM) or Certified Asset Management Professional (CAMP) certifications (preferred).

- Vendor Relations: Skilled at managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring adherence to service agreements.
