Job Scope and Responsibilities:

  1. Client Engagement and Consultation:Conduct consultations with clients to understand their design preferences, functional needs, and budget constraints.
    Perform site assessments to gather measurements and necessary project details.
    Present design concepts, mood boards, and 3D renderings, ensuring alignment with the client’s vision.
    Provide guidance on materials, color schemes, and design styles, assisting clients in making informed decisions.
  2. Project Design and Planning:Develop comprehensive design proposals, including floor plans, spatial layouts, lighting plans, and material specifications.
    Create 3D models and realistic renderings to help clients visualize proposed designs.
    Ensure all design plans are in compliance with local building codes and regulations.
    Revise and refine designs based on client feedback, ensuring project goals are met.
  3. Budgeting and Resource Allocation:Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgeting reports, and timelines aligned with the client’s budget and project scope.
    Source materials, furnishings, and fixtures according to design specifications, balancing quality and cost-efficiency.
    Negotiate with suppliers for competitive pricing and manage inventory for each project.
  4. Project Management:Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle, from initial concept to final completion, ensuring all phases align with design specifications and timelines.
    Develop and monitor project schedules, milestones, and deadlines to keep all parties on track.
    Coordinate with the project team, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth execution and adherence to quality standards.
    Conduct regular on-site inspections to assess progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with the design plan.
    Act as the primary point of contact for clients, keeping them updated on project status and addressing any questions or concerns.
    Manage documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and project reports, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.
  5. Coordination with Project Teams:Work closely with in-house carpentry, renovation, and construction teams to translate design concepts into actionable plans.
    Relay client updates and any design modifications to relevant team members promptly.
    Ensure quality control by overseeing key aspects of the installation and construction process, ensuring all work aligns with design specifications.
  6. Documentation and Compliance:Maintain accurate documentation of design plans, client approvals, material selections, and project milestones.
    Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards in all project phases.
    Prepare and submit necessary permits, contracts, and reports for internal records and client reference.
  7. Post-Project Support and Client Relations:Conduct project handover meetings with the client, walking them through the final design and ensuring satisfaction.
    Address any post-completion adjustments, touch-ups, or client requests.
    Gather client feedback for continuous improvement and foster long-term relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.

Requirements:

  1. Educational Background:Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. Certification in project management or design software is a plus.
  2. Experience:At least 3 years of experience in interior design and project management, particularly in renovation or commercial projects.
  3. Technical Skills:Proficiency in design and project management software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D rendering tools, Adobe Creative Suite, and project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project or Monday.com).
    Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and renovation materials.
    Ability to produce technical drawings and manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
  4. Soft Skills:Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills for effective client and team interactions.
    Excellent time management and problem-solving skills to address project challenges.
    High attention to detail and creativity, with a commitment to delivering quality work.
  5. Additional Requirements:Willingness to travel to job sites and supplier locations as needed.
    Flexibility with working hours to accommodate project deadlines or client meetings.
    Familiarity with sustainable design practices is a plus.
