You will manage a reinsurance accounting and claims portfolio and supports the accounting operations within the Reinsurance CFO unit. This includes the responsibility for clients and complex reinsurance accounting and claims handling topics.
Based in Singapore on a 6 months' contract, you will actively contribute to process improvement and simplification initiatives (within the department and across different departments and interfaces) and participates in Quality Assurance (QA), quarter-closing activities and other special projects within the Group.
Your job:
Key Tasks:
- Provide leadership to staff in reinsurance accounting, technical accounting, claims handling and verifying completed work
- Enter and update complex treaties/losses
- Assist the manager with his/her disciplinary responsibilities
- Assume overall responsibility for the work area of the staff she or he supervises
- Support client discussions in the area of accounting and claims handling issues
- Help with or assuming a topic and process owner role in Reinsurance Accounting (if necessary on a global level)
- Contribute actively to and/or leading cross-unit projects and working groupsTransferring know-how, providing training within the unit (including in the International Organisation), and/or in the context of speaker activity for specialist reinsurance and Reinsurance Accounting topics (holding internal and external training courses – also in foreign languages where applicable).
Control Functions:
- Supervise and monitor a sub-team within the Regional Middle Office Centre
- Ensure consistency of account settlement and claims handling in the unit
- Systematically implement process simplification and optimisation
- Ensure, keep track of and further developing active portfolio management observing the QA guidelines
- Proactively monitor key performance indicators (overdue balances, unmatched cash, etc.) for the portfolio/markets responsible
- Prepare and perform accounting reviews at external clients’ place
Your profile:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, with at least 5 years' relevant experience in Reinsurance Accounting and Claims handling
- Understanding of the interdependencies of Reinsurance Accounting Global Processes and Global Rules
- Understanding of the internal control systems and the effects of compliance provisions, and an ability to provide concrete suggestions
