Job Description & Requirements


The job role involves the implementation of case management services for ex-drug offenders in the community. The caseworker is expected to utilise evidence-based practices and provide professional delivery in supporting- and managing ex-drug offenders. He or She will be part of the Aftercare Department and will be expected to work closely with other stakeholders and other community resources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assessment, implementation and review of the offender reintegration process.
  2. Engagement and collaboration with community agencies in the provision of correctional counselling treatment services and monitoring and assessing quality of services provided.
  3. Ensure integration of offender assessment and treatment services in a throughcare approach for the rehabilitation of offenders in the community

Technical Competencies:

  1. Degree in Social Work, Psychology or counselling.
  2. At least 2 to 3 years of relevant working experience required.
  3. Good grasp of Desistence, Risks, Needs and Responsivity (RNR) Principle, and other relevant casework theories essential.

Core Competencies:

  1. Comfortable to work with offenders and their families.
  2. Strong team player with positive attitude.
  3. Teachable and responsible.

Preferred achievements / characteristics:

  1. Clear understanding of the principles and roles of offender case management.
  2. Prior relevant prison experience or experience in community aftercare services.
