KPMG Trade and Customs practice provides an extensive range of services to clients with international trade business. As part of our Trade and Customs team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations, providing strategic trade advisory services, and fostering client relationships for our clients in local, regional and international market.
The successful candidate will be:
- Providing solutions to clients to reduce costs in customs operations and taxes to maintain their strategic advantage through use of Customs Valuation and Classification, and Free Trade Agreement, Global Trade Strategy, Saving Opportunity Reviews in the APAC region
- Conduct compliance assessments and advise clients on mitigating risk issues relating to cross border business, import and export matters
- Advise clients on how to ensure compliance with local laws and to ensure regulatory requirements are met
- Research on innovative solutions through the use of technology to improve trade efficiency which take into consideration sound knowledge of our clients’ businesses
- Collaborate closely with our colleagues in the tax and advisory practice to develop a cohesive tax offering and demonstrate our specialised knowledge in the respective client industry
The ideal candidate should:
- Possess at least 2 to 5 years of relevant working experience in international trade, supply chain, accounting, finance, economics, law related field, with strong APAC region exposure
- Possess a university degree and/or professional qualification in similar industry
- Interested in a career as a customs and trade advisor
- Have an outward-looking, people-oriented personality with great communication skills as well as an analytical mind to work effectively in a team
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
