Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Clerk to join our finance team. The Accounts Clerk will be responsible for supporting accounting operations, including data entry, processing transactions, and managing financial records. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for accuracy and a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of financial information.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and update daily financial transactions in the accounting software accurately and efficiently.
- Process invoices, receipts, payments, and expenses, ensuring timely and accurate data entry.
- Reconcile bank statements and various accounts regularly to ensure data accuracy.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely processing of payments and collections.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from vendors, clients, and internal departments regarding financial transactions.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system for all financial documents, both digitally and physically.
- Support the finance team during audits and assist with annual tax preparations.
- Perform general administrative tasks as required to support the accounting department.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent organizational skills.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal teams.
- Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive financial information discreetly.
Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar role such as Accounts Clerk, Accounting Assistant, or Bookkeeper.
- Previous experience handling accounts payable and receivable and assisting with account reconciliations.
- Familiarity with data entry, financial record-keeping, and basic administrative tasks in a finance setting.
- Experience using accounting software and following accounting principles.
