You will be a key member of the organisation’s Serving Leaders, dedicated to advancing its mission by fostering and developing strategic partnerships with donors, volunteers, and community partners. Working closely with the CEO and the Leadership Team, this role will lead a cross-functional team to engage and connect supporters with the organisation’s initiatives to benefit its service recipients.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Communications, Donor Management, Volunteer Management, and Community Engagement professionals. This role involves cultivating strong, wide-reaching community connections, helping supporters (strategic partners, donors & volunteers) engage through the 5Ts (time, talent, treasure, ties, and testimony) to advance the organisation’s mission and benefit its service recipients.
- Strategic Development: Formulate and drive comprehensive strategies for Communications, Donor Management, and Volunteer Management, ensuring alignment and synergy across these functions.
- Communications: Collaborate with the Head of Communications to assess the organisation’s public presence and refine strategies to increase public awareness and engagement with its work.
- Donor Relations: Partner with the Head of Donor Management to strengthen approaches for identifying and cultivating new donors while nurturing existing relationships, ensuring a sustainable donor pipeline.
- Volunteer Management: Work alongside the Head of Volunteer Management and Strategic Partnerships to expand the network of volunteer leaders, regular volunteers, and strategic partners in alignment with the organisation’s priorities.
- Community Advocacy: Represent the organisation in relevant networks and collaborative platforms, working with partners to further the interests of the community served.
- People Development: Lead, manage, and mentor team members, supporting each individual’s professional growth in alignment with their strengths and the organisation’s mission.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in leading roles within community engagement, volunteer management, donor relations, fundraising, or communications within a social service setting, OR substantial experience in business development, strategic communications, or marketing within a corporate environment, with a keen interest in social service.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, analytical, planning, and people management skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation.
- A passion for the non-profit sector and commitment to the organisation’s mission.
