Responsibilities:
Business Management
- Strike collaborative and strong engagement with businessunits on business requirements translating to system configuration and workflow process across a sector of business.
- Design and create solutions to support clients’ requirements.
- Ascertain project scope, parameters and timeframes.
- Create any payroll presentation according to specific client.
- Mitigate any payroll ground issues to alleviate business operation burden.
- Contribute to sales revenue via effective payroll solutions.
- Interface with clients directly as and when business situation calls for it.
- Understand any business SLA and how its content impacts payroll ways of working.
- Understand company’s P&L and contributing ideas to reduce cost spent.
- Analyse data to plot observations and trends; contributing to business decisions.
- Analyse system and its efficiencies and always striving to make it better.
Stakeholder Management
- Create a mindset of continuous improvement and simplification to drive payroll function forward.
- Strive for best employee’s experience and high-performance service standard.
- To drive work productivity for own function and others.
- Understand matrix ways of working.
- Train Business Units in understanding salary-related laws to increase literacy level of understanding how decisions affect salary and cost spent.
Function Management
- Lead Payroll Function which is a team of payroll specialist
- Drives process optimization (ie the fastest and smartest way to “get there”)
- End to end scope of all payroll process include workflow, payment intricacies, compliance, validation, and invoice management via payroll feed, including processing some accounts (hands-on).
- Ensure timely process processing and accuracy.
- Intervention to investigate, analyse and resolve payroll issues that may arise.
- Gatekeeper to uphold payroll integrity and compliance.
- Employee engagement – drives effective communication on payment clarifications.
- Alleviate the function performance with a goal to gear the team to understand “business first”.
- Create a collaborative process with Finance accounting team to ensure proper reporting on invoices and compensation expenses.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in business, accounting, finance and any equivalent studies
- Experience in understanding business firstly and able to translate business thoughts to operation standard.
- A minimum of 5 years’ of leading a team in multi-account and/or outsourced payroll environment
- Experience in designing, implementing, and reviewing internal controls aimed at reducing operational risk.
- Someone with a combined HR/Payroll skillset will have priority consideration.
- Strive for a professional image excellence for the company
- Grasp business concepts and the ability to translate to tactical reasoning.
- Knowledgeable and objective view of things can identify right and wrong.
- Strong service mindset and can work with internal business stakeholders and occasionally external stakeholders and a wider group of employees
- Meticulous, able to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment.
- High adaptability in managing different payroll scenarios.
- Advanced excel skills and working knowledge
