(A) Job Summary:

The Regional Manager is responsible to oversee the development and expansion of Asia Pacific country to make sure align with Tokyo HQ business mission.

(B) Essential Job Functions:

The Regional Manager is responsible, but not limited to, the following:

Business Innovation Division

  • Report on potential business development opportunities in APAC to Tokyo HQ, including market potential and strategies for launching new ventures.
  • Prepare documentation for potential business development based on management directives.
  • Provide administrative support to the Division.
  • Working closely with other departments, such as R&D, marketing, and operations, to ensure that innovative ideas are feasible and align with overall business objectives.
  • Managing budgets and allocating resources effectively to support innovation projects.

Obayashi Construction-tech Lab Singapore

  • Manage planning and administrative tasks for R&D projects in robotics.
  • Coordinate and report on business development activities with Tokyo HQ.
  • Overseeing the research and development of new technologies that can be applied to construction processes. This might involve working with emerging technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), drones, robotics, and advanced materials.
  • Managing the budget, including allocating funds to various projects, sourcing funding for new initiatives, and ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Identifying potential risks associated with new technologies and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks. This might involve conducting feasibility studies, safety assessments, and cost-benefit analyses.

(C) Minimum Qualifications / Job Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in handling Financial Statement in Construction industry.
  • At least 5 years of experience multinational country
  • Fluency in spoken and written Japanese is necessary as the incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate with counterparts in Japan, Tokyo Head Office including monthly accounts progress reports
  • Capable of translating reports from English to Japanese or vice versa
  • Good supervisory and time management skills

(D) Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Excellent attitude to adopt yourself to difficulties, changes, and various requests.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skill and ability to adopt yourself to any software and system to maintain financial data and to create financial reports.
  • Strong skill in initiating a financial projection.
  • Strong skill in analysing financial current and past data.
  • Strong skill in organizing various resources of information.
  • Strong ability to simplify complicated factors and give a logical presentation by a concise material.
  • Strong Time Management in multiple tasks concurrently required.
  • Strong skill in documentation
  • Good ability to build up a long-term relationship with various stakeholders.
  • Basic knowledge of commercial and construction contract law, ideally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill in English and Japanese
  • Require overseas business travel.
