ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Chartering
· Chartering out the vessels operated by company
· Chartering in vessels from the market for company’s own cargoes & program.
· Calculating owner estimate for charter in/out (Voyage Charter, COA, TC)
· Preparing in principal approval for charter in/out to management.
· Preparing tender summary for charter in/out.
· Negotiations, preparation of fixture recaps and charter parties.
· Through knowledge of charter party clauses, terms, and their implications.
· Maintain and update and manage the list of all potential customers, brokers and ship owners who are potential customers of the company.
· To liaise with brokers, owners, charterers, logistics service providers alike on a regular basis to understand market sentiment and competition.
· Keep abreast of the latest fixtures and market sentiment by word of mouth (including telephone) and reading market reports.
· Market development and customer relationship management and network development with traders, cargo owners and vessel owners.
Operation
· To ensure proper operation of controlled vessels during employment TC or spot and maximize performance, time charter equivalent (TCE), always following global standards and international regulations.
· Undertake voyage planning to meet international regulation and charter party.
· Respond to vessel issues, customers’ requests, terminal, agent
· Communicating with charterers, brokers, agents and vessels regarding voyage orders, vessel itineraries, etc.
· Handle bunker and route optimisation.
· To ensure vessel deployment, operations improvement, and cost optimisation.
· Provide voyage instructions to vessels, review stowage planning, coordinate agency appointments, review PDAs and FDAs, monitor vessel cargo operation, at sea and in port.
· Monitor vessel performance during voyages i.e. speed and consumption.
· Handle questionnaires, certificates, LOIs, LOPs, and all relevant supporting data.
· Update company database with required information with regards vessel and voyage performance.
· Assist in ship chartering issue i.e disputes, claims, computation for freight, demurrage & laytime, and other claims.
· Responsible for following up on post fixture activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bahelor's Degree or equivalent. Bachelor in Ocean Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Engineering, with 5-8 years experience in Shipping Chartering/Operation tanker vessels
· Good knowledge of Charter Party terms.
· Good knowledge in freight cost and charter hire calculations
· Good negotiation skills and have a good understanding of market conditions.
· Good planning and execution skills in voyage operations.
· Conversant with Master, Agent, Charterer, Terminal, and other requirements.
· Able to work irregular hours to attend and ensure timely operation is in compliance to charter party.
· Proficiency in English both written and spoken, good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
· Data entry and responsible for proper filing, reporting, and sorting of operation documents.
Job Type : Full Time, Contract Basis
Expected Salary : Sgd XXXXX/month (will commensurate according to experience and qualifications)
