Resident Technical Officer

Job Requirement


  1. Accredited RE IES/ACES as C&S Resident Technical Officer (RTO)
  2. A minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience, particularly in the supervision of pipe jacking or similar projects.
  3. Strong analytical skills, along with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  4. Independent, organized, and possessing a positive work attitude.

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Supervise construction works, maintain quality control, and ensure adherence to project specifications, design intent, approved drawings, and site instructions from supervising qualified persons and project consultants/clients.
  • Ensure contractors comply with prevailing regulations established by Singapore's building authorities and government agencies.
  • Inspect construction materials and workmanship.
  • Perform tests to verify the quality of materials.
  • Review project drawings and specifications, raising any discrepancies or potential issues with the appointed Qualified Person and project consultants/clients.
  • Supervise the project to verify that all work aligns with project specifications, construction drawings, and the Building Control Act and Regulations.
  • To take turn with Resident Engineer (RE) for night work supervision as and when necessary.
  • Attend meetings.
  • Prepare progress reports for clients.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as directed.
  • Participate, partake and be responsible on matters relating to Workplace safety and health (WSH) which include but are not limited to:
  1. Attending trainings, design for safety and safety committee meetings
  2. Contributing to WSH matters like emergency drills and risk assessment.
  3. Fostering a positive WSH culture by attending WSH promotional events, trainings, forums, audits and walkabouts.
