The Role:
The Assistant Finance Manager will assist in all accounting functions of the Group including effective day to day accounting operations, financial closing and statutory reporting and variance analysis.
Job Responsibilities
- Handles full set of accounts and ensures timely closing (month-end and year-end)
- Oversee subsidiaries’ accounts and month-end closing process to ensure timely submission of financial reports
- Review monthly financial statements and group financial reporting
- Review quarterly GST reports and reconciliation
- Review accounts receivables invoices & accounts receivables outstanding list and ensure staff follow up closely on the status.
- Review and ensure accounts payable payments, invoices and expenses claims are accurate and duly approved by relevant Business Units
- Participate in the budgeting preparation, management and monitoring processes.
- Ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with relevant accounting standards, internal policies and statutory/regulatory/tax requirements.
- Ensure that policies and procedures and limits of authority are adhered to and financial controls are in place
- Liaise with internal auditors, external auditors and tax agents
- Assist in preparation of schedules and reports as required
- Provide ad-hoc financial projection that are assigned by FM/FD
- Handle petty cash and process expense claims
- Manage the intercompany reconciliation
- To undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned
- Handle any other ad hoc duties as directed by management
Preferred Attributes:
- Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in finance operations
- Strong analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative with the ability to identify trends in data.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work on tight timelines.
- Strong attention to detail, organized, ensuring consistent, quality output.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Strong team spirit and interact tactfully across all levels.
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.Proficient in accounting and office productivity softwares such as Xero, Zoho, Google Sheets, Microsoft Office, etc.
- Able to work independently and well with team members.
- Group consolidation experience would be an advantage
