Location: Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road), 60 Barker Road, Singapore 309919
Contract Period: 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025
Option to Extend: The Contractor grants the School the option to extend the Contract for a further period of 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026.
Working Hours:
- Base Year (2025): A maximum of 10 hours per week for a maximum of 40 weeks (Total: 400 hours)
- Deployment Days: Weekdays only, based on arrangement with the school (with prior notice of at least 3 days)
- Timing for Deployment: Anytime between 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., based on arrangement with the school (with prior notice of at least 3 days)
Key Responsibilities:
- Training and Coaching:
- Provide training and coaching to Special Educational Needs (SEN) Officers to enhance their skills and effectiveness in supporting students.
- Consultation Services:
- Conduct case consultations with teachers and parents regarding Special Educational Needs (SEN) support.
- Offer advice and consultation for SEN Officers, parents, key personnel, and teachers on educational provisions and decisions for students with SEN.
- Assessment and Recommendations:
- Conduct assessments for students with SEN to facilitate access to appropriate support and provisions (e.g., referrals to external agencies, SPED school placements, Access Arrangements).
- Prepare assessment reports and recommendations for external agencies and high-stakes provisions, including reviews for transitions into new settings or intervention programs.
- Communication and Strategy Development:
- Provide bi-weekly updates to parents and educators via email or tele-conversation.
- Develop and provide learning and behavioral strategies to teachers to assist students in accessing the curriculum.
- Collaborate with SEN Officers and Year Heads to identify school needs and design tiered support strategies for students (Tiers 1, 2, and 3).
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Registration:
- Must be registered with the Ministry of Education as an Enrichment Instructor.
Professional Credentials:
- Must maintain registration with the Singapore Psychological Society’s Register of Psychologists throughout the contract period and be recognized as having a sub-specialization in Educational Psychology.
Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in providing direct psychological assessments and advice for children and adolescents with learning disabilities and special educational needs.
- Competence in conducting assessments, psycho-educational interventions, and individual/group therapy with school-aged students with Learning/Developmental Disabilities and various SEN.
- Proven experience in providing training and advice to teachers, school personnel, and parents on strategies to support students effectively.
