Location: North Vista Primary School, 20 Compassvale Link, Singapore 544974
Contract Period: 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025
Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
- Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
- Note: Service is not required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Science Laboratory:
- Prepare experimental setups for all lab activities, trial experiments, and modify them as required prior to Science lessons and enrichment activities.
- Prepare additional apparatus for teachers conducting supplementary Science activities and assist during Science Workshops.
- Assist with purchasing materials required for experiments in alignment with budget requirements for both curriculum and enrichment lessons.
- Ensure and maintain the cleanliness of the two Science Labs.
- Conduct stock-taking of all apparatus and resources belonging to the Science department at least twice a year.
- Maintain a logbook for entries of classes into and out of the Science labs.
- Maintain a logbook for broken/condemned apparatus and chemicals in the Science labs.
- Prepare the Outdoor and Indoor Hydroponics/Urban Farming Facility for planting and harvesting, followed by cleaning for the next harvest.
- Monitor the Science Ecological Gardens and assist in plant replacement as needed.
- Maintain the laboratory aquariums, including water changes and assisting in plant and livestock replacement.
Makerspace:
- Prepare materials and tools for makerspace recess activities and workshops.
- Manage and maintain makerspace equipment, including 3D printers, digital cutters, and other tools.
- Provide technical support to makerspace users regarding equipment operation and troubleshooting.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the makerspace.
Other Responsibilities:
- Support miscellaneous administrative tasks required by the HOD/LH Science/School Admin.
- May assist other departments in the school or at school events/activities when needed.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Educational Qualifications:
- An ‘O’ Level qualification and basic knowledge of IT applications (e.g., MS Word and Excel).
Language Proficiency:
- Must be proficient in English.
Skills:
- Ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced environment.
Experience:
- Preferably at least 3 years of working experience in a school environment with basic knowledge of laboratory chemicals and apparatus. Candidates without relevant school experience but with comparable skills and qualifications will also be considered.
