Student Management Support Officer

Location: Hougang Secondary School, 2 Hougang Street 93, Singapore
Contract Duration: 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2025
Option to Extend: The contract may be extended for an additional year from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026, at the Authority’s discretion.

Working Hours:

  • School Term:Mondays to Thursdays: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (inclusive of a 1-hour lunch break)
    Fridays: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (inclusive of a 1-hour lunch break)
  • School Holidays and Public Holidays: Service is not required.
  • Note: Some extended hours may be required, and time-off in lieu will be provided for such occasions.

Objective:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Student Discipline and Management Support:
  • Patrol school premises and surrounding areas during and after school hours to ensure student safety and discipline.
  • Assist with disciplinary investigations and follow-up actions, including handling student late-comers and those in detention or in-house suspension.
  • Oversee and administer Corrective Work Orders as required.
  1. Administrative Duties:
  • Input data into the School Cockpit mobile system and other school-based systems for tracking student information.
  • Track and follow up on student late-comers, maintaining accurate records and files.
  • Update detention records and maintain orderly documentation related to disciplinary actions.
  1. Pupil Management Programmes Support:
  • Support targeted student programs such as the Smoking/Vaping Cessation Programme and the GEAR UP Programme, which may involve accompanying students for out-of-school activities.
  • Work with the PMT to engage students in initiatives aimed at positive behavior reinforcement and life skills development.
  1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Assist the HOD/Pupil Management and PMT in analyzing discipline data to identify trends in student behavior and attendance.
  • Maintain attendance records and monitor trends in late-coming to support timely interventions.

Qualifications and Experience:


Education:

  • Minimum of a diploma (preferred fields: Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Counselling, or similar).

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of experience working with youths and/or managing disciplinary matters.
