We seek to grow our team of talented and experienced engineers and engineering technicians who work together to design, supervise and deliver cost-effective and optimized civil, structural and geotechnical solutions that transform our client’s objectives into reality.

As an Associate, you will join the structural design team as a leading member applying sound engineering to design and deliver a broad spectrum of infrastructure solutions including Underground and Elevated infrastructure works for MRT and Roads.


Job Responsibilities:

Supported by your manager, you will play a leading role in applying sound engineering principles and prevailing standards to design underground and elevated structures for MRT stations, Tunnels, Viaducts and Roads, in close collaboration with our geotechnical engineering colleagues.


On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Lead, Guide and supervise team members to deliver quality work on time.
  • Develop and drive concept designs and associated construction sequences for infrastructure works.
  • Guide and supervise team members to carry out detailed structural analyses and design of underground and elevated works and foundations.
  • Guide and supervise team members prepare detailed design calculations and reports of high quality for client and authority submissions.
  • Prepare / deliver concise and accurate technical communications including informative presentations.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external project team members to deliver coordinated designs.

Additional duties may also include:

  • Point-of-contact with client representatives, and authority officials to obtain design clearances.
  • Mamaging the design development.
  • Delivery of tender submissions and presentations.

KEY ATTRIBUTES WE LOOK FOR

  • Drive and initiative to move tasks forward and to resolve problems that arise.
  • Ability to lead and supervise a team, applying time-management, multi-tasking and ability to sustain momentum on long-duration tasks at a personal and team level.
  • Ability to work collaboratively both internally and externally (sub-contractors, clients).
  • Good technical communication – verbal, written and graphical, with ability to deliver explanations of design details and construction sequences clearly.
  • Ability to understand the structural behaviour and variability and model it in analysis with sufficient complexity.
  • Ability to account for construction dependencies and sequencing in the design of underground works.
  • Sound understanding of and hands-on experience with commonly used structural analysis software.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with local design regulations and working within them.

Requirements:

  • Recognised Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering (with appropriate experience);
  • Preferably with a M.Sc. or M.Eng. in Structural Engineering .
  • Competent in 2D and 3D analysis tools, Eurocodes and familiar with LTA and BCA standards;
  • Minimum 8 years relevant design experience in infrastructure works and project management gained within a technical consultancy;
  • Experience in working collaboratively in seamless teams to build consensus and confidence and able to interface with other discipline leads;
  • Proven track record in large scale underground engineering design and construction projects and able to clearly communicate designs to other professionals;
  • Very good experience in underground / Elevated MRT projects and or Road Projects
