Associate Professor of Practice in Mathematical Sciences

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at the College of Science of NTU offer multidisciplinary academic programs that provide students with a wide-ranging and up-to-date education. We offer undergraduate training leading to BSc (Hons) and graduate training leading to MSc and PhD degrees.
We invite applications for a position of Associate Professor of Practice. The role involves leading industry-related research and teaching in the field of mathematical sciences. The appointee will be expected to teach and provide contributions to practice, such as consultancy and applied research, within the broad domain of information theory and cryptography, particularly post-quantum cryptography. Candidates with portfolios of industry-specific contributions or works and projects that exploit opportunities for interaction across disciplines in mathematics and computer science and engineering are especially welcome to apply.
The candidates are expected to:
· Enhance the College’s visibility as an international leader in education, research, and industry collaboration.
· Deliver engaging and effective teaching to both undergraduate and graduate students.
· Secure funding from competitive grants and industry partnerships.
· Mentor and supervise students and researchers.
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within the university and with external partners to design and help develop commercially viable products and services.
· Undertake essential administrative responsibilities within the School.
Requirements:
· PhD in mathematical sciences or a related subject.
· A good track record of supervising students, researchers, postdocs, and interns.
· Experienced in cross-disciplinary research initiatives and collaboration.
· Demonstrated excellence in research, evidenced by a strong publication record in reputable peer-reviewed international journals and conferences.
· Proven track record in research, design, development, certification, and implementation of enterprise-grade products and services.
· Proven ability to secure applied research funding or commercial investments.
