RESPONSIBILITIES
THE ROLE: Regional HR Manager
Are you passionate about driving strategic HR initiatives and making a real impact across diverse markets in Asia? Kaplan is looking for a dynamic Regional HR Manager to provide expert support and advice to business units, shaping a culture of excellence, engagement, and compliance. Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- HR Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted HR advisor and business partner to business units across the region.
- Deliver integrated HR services and solutions to the business units and to support them in achieving their business objectives.
- Build and maintain a strong and positive relationship with employees in these business units.
- Lead and contribute positively to regional and group initiatives.
- HR Compliance
- Work closely with HR, Legal and external parties to ensure that HR policies and procedures across the region are compliant with local labor laws and regulations, and Kaplan group policies. This includes regular reviews of existing policies and procedures and recommending changes or develop new policies based on legislative and regulatory developments.
- Maintain accurate HR records and oversee or support audits as necessary.
- HR Information System, Data & Reporting
- Work closely with UK HR and business units in the region to establish the group HR information system (Workday) as the system of record for all our global operations.
- Implement administrative procedures and audit processes that ensure employee information is complete, accurate and kept up to date.
- Ensure compliance with applicable data privacy regulations in each location and internal security protocols. Manage access controls, permissions and user roles within the HRIS to protect sensitive employee information.
- Generate reports to support HR decision-making and analysis of data trends and metrics to identify areas for improvement or efficiency. Provide insights and recommendations based on data to support workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development.
- Work with colleagues from HR, IT and external vendors to integrate HRIS with other business systems (e.g. payroll) and ensuring seamless data flow between systems through interfaces or APIs.
- Ensure accurate data is provided for administering the annual employee engagement survey.
- Employment Solutions
- Advise business units on resourcing models and contractual options that are appropriate and futureproofed for each jurisdiction.
- Undertake research and analysis and provide information on Asia markets in terms of talent and resourcing pool and rewards approach etc.
- Partner with Employer-of-Record providers in managing resources based in Asia.
- Employee Engagement & Relations
- Provide advice and support to managers and employees in building a great workplace.
- Coach and advise people managers on employee relations issues across multiple locations.
- Support case management of employee relations cases that are escalated or reported.
- Work with business units in communicating employee engagement survey results and provide support in developing action plans to improve employee engagement.
- Compensation & Benefits
- Assist in evaluating current compensation practices and recommend cost-effective, trend-aligned changes when needed.
- Provide compensation input and pay guidance for each market.
- Coordinate the annual salary and bonus review process.
- Communications
- Ensure appropriate and timely communications are received by offices in the region.
- Champion a culture of equality, diversity, inclusion. Drive and communicate company's EDI initiatives across the region.
- Training & Development
- Support talent growth and development by identifying training needs and coordinate development programs for employees within the region.
- Ensure all mandatory online training modules are available and deployed to relevant employees and completed as required.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned.
- A recognized Bachelor's degree in Business, HR or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of regional HR business partnering experience.
- Hands-on experience in managing the full spectrum of HR functions and providing HR operational support and advice across the region.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Asia labour market, trends, practices and statutory legislations with priority focus on China, Japan, Korea and Thailand.
- Savvy and proven track record in stakeholder management and engagement across countries, with the demonstrated ability to advise, guide and influence at varying levels within the businesses, whilst assessing and advising on any potential risks.
- Proven experience in driving HR related changes and transformation.
- Prior experience in HR dashboard and analytics.
- Highly organised with strong business acumen and ability to align HR initiatives with organisational goals
- Good appreciation and understanding of different cultures
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders at all levels. Able to balance expectations of multiple stakeholders and effective at negotiating outcomes.
- Proficiency in Workday and Office 365 will be advantageous
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm
- Work Arrangements: Hybrid (Blend of in-office and remote work)
