Job Description
- Assist the Educator in planning and implementation of education programme for children from two (2) months to six (6) years of age
- A role model to children, and believes in fostering positive attributes, explicitly and implicitly by example in the classroom
- Understands of the developmental milestones and emerging skills in the first 6 years. Upholds principles of care giving and developmentally appropriate practices
- Provides a warm, nurturing environment where children are valued and respected with emphasis on the teaching and demonstrating the M.Y World four core values
- Provides a well-organized, safe and clean learning environment for the children
- Ensures health and safety of all children
- Plans and setup the learning environment (physical, daily schedule, as well as social emotional environment) so as to meet the children’s developmental need both as a group and individually
- Takes charge of all routine care duties such as supervising and assisting children during transition periods, bathing, meal and nap times. Assists new children to settle-in.
- Assists Educators to monitor and supervise children in the classroom, on field trips, and other activities; or monitors the class when Educator is otherwise occupied
- Assists and interacts with children during activities
- Provides various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and story-telling
- Communicates clearly and effectively in a manner that children understand.
- Assists Educator to assess and compile the development of individual children into report for the parents
- Reports unusual situations, such as allergies, accidents, parental requests and concerns or behavioural irregularities to the Educator/Principal
- Provides administrative support for class recordkeeping and communication book as required
Job Requirements
- Fundamental Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education or equivalent (For Para Educarer)
- Certificate in Early Childhood Education or equivalent or equivalent (For Para Educator)
