Job Description & Requirements

  • Achieve Trade Finance related business targets
  • Assist Head Trade Finance in mobilizing Business volumes and budgeted levels of all Trade Finance products through active involvement in marketing and service delivery.
  • Liaising with existing and potential clients based out of Singapore & India for business development through personal visits, telephonic calls, emails etc.
  • Keeping regular contact with partner FI banks, consultants, domestic SBI branches, other Indian banks for mobilizing business under various Trade Finance products including MRPA (both buy & sell i.e. churning).
  • In-charge of all digital initiatives and coordinator for implementation.
  • Data collection & analysis from various sources (IBG / RBI / Govt statistics) for business development.
  • Second scrutiny of all trade transactions like Invoice Financing, Freight Financing, Trust Receipt, LCs, Bills under LCs, Collection documents, MRPAs, Guarantees etc. are carried out strictly as per Bank’s policies, ICC and regulatory guidelines; and recommending the same for approvals (financing / deviation).
  • Actively coordinate with credit, compliance and risk departments for necessary transaction approvals and maintaining the expected TAT levels.
  • Work closely with treasury to ensure optimum margins and yield from trade finance business.
  • Supervising and guiding the Trade Finance team with hands on role in day to day operations; and monitor workflow to ensure highest levels of service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Limit monitoring to ensure all exposures are within the sanctioned customer / Bank limits (daily BEXI checking). Liaise with IBG and other FOs for BEXI limits and borrowing/lending limits if required and put up the requests for approval.
  • Attend to queries by clients, banks, regulators, auditors and ensure that no query is left unattended.
  • Work in coordination with associates and team members; build relationships with other departments for smooth and timely compilation of data and completion of audit reports and other regulatory submissions.
  • Monitor audit activities from submission of sample documents, attending to auditors queries, preparing reply to observations and closure of report on a timely basis for all audits including IA, compliance, Internal audit, statutory audit, Credit audit, RFIA and other adhoc audits if any.
  • Ensure accurate & timely submission of Internal reports, IBG reports and MAS returns including annual IWST & CRAFT data submissions in coordination with Risk & I&A department.
  • Liaising with SBI IBG Mumbai, IT Foreign Offices and Global IT Centre for business and technical requirements and for completion of home country internal, statutory and regulatory returns.
  • Ensuring that all TF operations are conducted as per various policy/regulatory guidelines (compliance, risk, loan, UCPDC, TF Manual and AML/ CFT Policy and Procedures and ICC guidelines etc.) and keeping abreast of developments / changes in policies related to Trade Finance.
  • Keep abreast of developments / changes in Trade Finance arena and ICC rules like UCPDC, URR, URC, URDG, ISBP etc. which affect trade finance business.
  • Maintaining good rapport with partner FIs and other SBI FOs for a mutually beneficial relationship and sharing of best practices.
  • Identify areas of professional development and industry best practices for self and team and work towards constantly improving control systems and processes.
  • Coordination with compliance department for annual review of AML/CFT procedure for Trade Finance.
  • Periodic review and upgradation of Trade Finance Manuals / Job Cards.
  • Other trade related activities based on business / Bank requirements.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent, preference will be given to those who have done courses related to Banking and Trade Finance.
  • Banking experience of continuous 5-8 years, out of which minimum 03 years should be in trade/credit/branch related operations.
  • Sound knowledge of banking systems/processes/procedures.
  • Preference may be given to candidates who have knowledge of India trade dynamics
  • Sound Knowledge of banking/financial products/ financial statements.
  • Good management skills and analytical mindset, one who can effectively analyse a situation and make decisions to address issues/problem.
  • Excellent communication and inter personal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of customers, staff and top management.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft applications: Excel/Word/PowerPoint.
