Job Purpose
The Pre-Sales Team of ICE Data Services provides professional, detailed, customer-focused support to position ICE in providing pricing and analytics data solutions to the buy side, sell side and other financial institutions within APAC. The specialist role is to act as a product and delivery system expert as well as providing support at every stage of the sales and implementation process. This role will have primary ownership for assigned opportunities to ensure proposed solutions are implemented according to best practices, meet the business and technical requirements of the customer and ultimately result in a successful sale.
The Pre-Sales specialist is expected to become a technical expert in ICE Data Services Pricing and Analytics product offerings and to act as a consultant to the Sales organization as well as other internal and external groups. Technical discussions and presentations to clients will all be an integral part of the role, as well as interacting with internal teams on technical aspects of the solution.
Responsibilities
The role’s core responsibilities center around the technical support of the sales life cycle including:
- Work with the customer to understand and document their requirements, and design the most effective solution for their needs, based on the platforms and services that ICE has to offer.
- Mapping out client requirements including qualification and documentation of prospect’s coverage and internal systems, including third party software.
- Perform coverage checks upon initial requirement gathering with the client.
- Proposal and presentation of market data solution. The process will include determination of correct data delivery method and compliment the data gathering function. The output will include content coverage spreadsheets, flow diagrams and other supporting materials.
- Support any trial and proof-of-concept efforts to help a prospect through the evaluation phase.
- Maintain clear record of activity, track and report progress when needed.
- Respond to all technical client queries in a prompt and informative matter; lead or attend client calls/ meetings as needed.
- Assist the Sales team in the contractual process and providing the relevant supporting technical documentation/ information.
- Upon contract closure, coordinate the effort across a range of teams globally to implement the solution; working alongside product teams, business development teams and network teams; eventually handing off to Client Services.
- Provide critical feedback to product management on product enhancements
- Market and product training internally and to clients on a continuous basis
- Being a self-learner and keeping up to date with products & solutions offered by ICE Data Services
- Develop and maintain a deep technical understanding of the various platforms and services available within the region and be able to effectively discuss all the products we can offer, including customized data services and the underlying platforms
- Performing product demonstrations for Clients and managing following-up discussions on ICE’s pricing and analytics desktop solutions.
Knowledge and Experience
- Spoken and written fluency in English and Korean is a requirement. Knowledge of any additional Asian language is an advantage
- A minimum 3 years of experience at financial institutions
- Strong financial markets knowledge and experience working on different asset types: Fixed Income, Equities , Derivatives, Structured Products
- Experience and knowledge in one or more of the following data sets: Reference Data, Sustainable Finance, Corporate Actions, Evaluated Pricing, Listed market pricing
- Experience working on market data desktops/terminal solutions and successfully helping with solutions for Clients on their specific workflow requirements
- Proven track record in presales consulting role working through the whole sale life cycle - requirement gathering till the successful service implementation for Clients
- Good understanding of market data delivery mechanisms such as API, SFTP will be key for this role.
- Proven track record for understanding of the urgent nature of our business and the need to proactively find and fix problems quickly and effectively. Takes ownership and follows through on decisions; doesn’t minimize or forget about problems
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office
- Project management experience is a bonus
- Strong presentation skills
- Attention to detail and diligence in all aspects of work are essential
- Confident and professional communicator, both written and in front of senior executive audience
- Logical and methodical at troubleshooting
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure, while maintaining high quality output and meeting deadlines
