Assistant Manager, Production Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Investment Project Engineer to join our team and be stationed in Singapore. This pivotal role will focus on supporting and driving investment projects to ensure stable and sustainable investment for future growth.


The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in establishing a consistent organization dedicated to long-term investment stability, collaborating closely with both the Japan Mazak staff and the YMS investment team.


Key Responsibilities:


· Lead and support investment projects, ensuring they align with the company's strategic objectives.

· Collaborate with Japan Mazak and cross-functional teams to support YMS investment initiatives, technical requirement and ensure seamless project execution.

· Establish and maintain a consistent organizational framework to ensure future stable investment.

· Conduct thorough reviews of current manufacturing processes and identify areas for enhancement.

· Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, adherence to design specifications and resource allocations.

· Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate successful project outcomes.

· Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

· Serve as a key point of contact and resource for manufacturing investment-related inquiries and initiatives.

· Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting project progress, challenges, and opportunities.

· Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements in machine tool manufacturing that could impact investment strategies.


Job Requirements


Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.


Experience:

· A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in managing and supporting large-scale investment projects, with a specific focus on equipment manufacturing.

· Proven track record of successfully leading investment initiatives within the equipment manufacturing industry.

· Extensive experience working within Japanese business culture and practices, ideally in a multinational corporation.


Technical Skills:

· In-depth knowledge of equipment tool manufacturing processes, technologies, and industry standards.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Application and possess strong knowledge and mastery of 2D CAD, SolidWorks software, etc

· Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis related to investment projects.

· Excellent understanding of risk management principles and the ability to develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.


Soft Skills:

· Exceptional leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage and mentor project teams.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and senior management.

· Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.

· Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to anticipate challenges and devise effective solutions.

Industry-Specific Experience:

· Extensive knowledge of the equipment manufacturing industry, including current trends, challenges, and opportunities.

· Experience in evaluating and integrating new technologies and processes in the equipment manufacturing sector.

· Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards specific to equipment manufacturing.


Cultural and Business Acumen:

· Deep understanding of Japanese business etiquette, culture, and communication styles.

· Experience in navigating and bridging cultural differences in a global business environment.

· Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with Japanese and local stakeholders.
