This advertisement is recruiting for the position of Technical Assistant.
If successfully selected, you will be seconded to MOE JC located in Whitley Road.
Contract Period: From 01 January 2025 to 31 December 2025
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:
- Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 5:00pm, inclusive of 1 hr lunch break
- Fridays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 1 hr lunch break
- Service is not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays.
- Note: The timing might change based on school needs. School will communicate with the personnel 2 weeks in advance.
The Technical Assistant shall support college operations in the following areas:
- Support Teaching and Learning – Provides technical assistance to teachers (if required) during lessons on issues related to projectors or sound system in classrooms, lecture theaters, computer labs and seminar rooms.
- Supports school Events – Prepares, sets up, positions, connects and configures audio visual (AV) equipment for “live” audience and/or simultaneous broadcast to staff and students across the school.
- Equipment fault diagnosis/maintenance – Maintains and troubleshoots faulty AV equipment.
- Preventive Maintenance - Performs routine preventive check on AV equipment. • Asset Management – Perform routine inventory check of AV equipment in preparation for internal and external audit checks.
- School facilities management – supports school in the managing of contractors in carrying out periodic facilities maintenance.
- Supports the school during school-wide events and examinations.
- Coaches FSV Society members in operating AV equipment.
The TA is expected to be skilled not only in conventional AV equipment, but also be reasonably competent in dedicated digital media broadcast and production equipment . Assist Operations Manager to manage daily operations on site.
The TA reports to the Operations Manager.
The personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- National ITE Certificate (Nitec), or its equivalent, or higher, in audio and video specializations and with at least 1 year of experience in the similar field or professions.
- Nitec in other field of studies may be considered.
- Proficiency in English (Oral and Written)
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
