Introduction to The Centre for Precision Fermentation and Sustainability:
The Centre for Precision Fermentation and Sustainability (PreFerS) is a research program hosted by the Illinois Advanced Research Center at Singapore Ltd. (Illinois ARCS). The program aims to develop advanced fundamental sciences and technologies to implement fermentation-based production of foods and food ingredients, and also to enhance food security and sustainability in Singapore, particularly addressing the micronutrient food insecurity through precision fermentation.
About This Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of precision fermentation and sustainability, focusing on developing innovation fermentation process and sustainable practices. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on research aimed at addressing global challenges in food production, environmental sustainability, and bioengineering.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct research on microbial fermentation and production of vitamin and vitamin-enriched foods and food ingredients using precision fermentation and natural fermentation on both lab-scale and pilot scales
· Collaborate with metabolic engineers, team members and other stakeholders as necessary
· Write up for publications and/or patent applications
Job Requirements:
· Ph.D degree in a relevant field such as food bioscience, food science
· Ability to work independently to design and execute experiments, and interpret data
· Proficiency in English, with good writing and interpersonal communication skills
· A good understanding of microbial physiology and metabolism
· Good knowledge of food fermentation and food science
· Analytical skills, especially analysis of vitamins
