JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Perform on-site field service activities to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment including deck cranes, grab systems, windlasses, hatch cover hydraulics, and davits.
REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will have solid working experience with marine crane and deck machinery makers such as:
- ITALGRU
- MELCAL
- FUCHS
- BONFANTi
- ACEBI
- KISTLER
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an Electrical Officer on bulk carriers with deck cranes.
- Diploma or Degree in Electrica/Mechanical Engineering
- Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing marine cranes, windlasses, and hydraulic systems onboard.
- In-depth knowledge of PLC-controlled electro-hydraulic cranes and hydraulic machinery.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic diagrams.
- Capable of independently diagnosing and resolving electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues.
- Experienced in supervising a team of mechanics and leading large repair projects onboard, during voyages, and in shipyards.
- Proficient in writing technical reports and communicating with owners' representatives.
- Previous experience with a leading deck crane manufacturer is a plus.
- Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFD) is advantageous.
- Ship Electricians are encouraged to apply.
